Getting there

From San Jose by Public Transportation

The direct bus from San José leaves from terminal 7-10. This bus leaves San José at 6am and 2pm. Once in Cobano, you have to take another local bus that bring you directly to Santa Teresa. You can ask to the driver to stop in front of Buena Onda.

From San Jose By car

Drive northwest on Route 27 (toll road) for one hour to Puntarenas. Make your way to the ferry terminal (Naviera Tambor). Check Naviera Tambor website for all the infos.

After the 1.5 hour ferry ride, you arrive in Paquera. From there you will drive west on Route 160 through Tambor and Cobano. Follow the signs to the crossroads of Mal Pais/Santa Teresa and turn right towards Santa Teresa. Continue 4 km until you see Buena Onda Bamboo Gate on the right.

Time: 5-6 hours.

From Liberia By car

Drive south on Route 21 passing through Santa Cruz and Nicoya. Before arriving to Carmona, turn left towards Jicaral, Lepanto, and then Playa Naranjo. You will continue along the same road through Paquera, Tambor, and then Cobano. Follow the signs to the crossroads of Mal Pais/Santa Teresa and turn right towards Santa Teresa. Continue 4 km until you see the Buena Onda Bamboo Gate on the right.

Time: 3-4 hours.

By Plane

With a flying time of approximately 30 minutes from SJO Airport, you can arrive here by either SANSA or Costa Rica Green Airways and take a 45 minute taxi ride.
